"Schumpeter's Capriccio" by Margaret Lawless

We are excited to exhibit new works by Margaret Lawless. The term capriccio is used to describe architectural fantasy, often creating imaginary realities by combining actual buildings and places with imaginary ones.  Lawless not only shifts and reimagines places but also social landscapes.  Margaret starts with images from art history and combines them with text and image-based research on political and economic terminology in order to create new works as her own version of the romanticized historical landscape genre.
