Holly Hughes sees the awe-inspiring bounty of the landscape but understands the toll created by environmental exploitation, recognizing natural resources are specific and measured. Her abstract paintings build with tension of the fraught pastoral - a notion of idyllic landscapes colliding with interventions that, by definition, articulate a singular point of view.

Holly uses color and her own graphic vocabulary to build light and establish space, emerging as the memory of gardens.
