Marietta Patricia Leis
Marietta’s work is most often described as minimalist or reductivist. Her artwork conveys the essence of her journey – what it is that she remembers most.
These images and the accompanying soundtrack were taken while traversing The Drake Passage. Leis feels honored to have experienced the beauty of both Antarctica and The Arctic Circle, but is acutely aware of the rapidly melting ice and the effects that has around the globe.
