Most recently my collages employ the use of straight sewing pins to hold my cut images in place. This new technique omits any glue, while creating a dense architectural structure. While employing an almost horror vacui space filled with impenetrable imagery, the pins pierce this field creating an additional three-dimensional level of depth. This creates a new dialogue between the flat image and the physicality of the indentured pins. Every image outline is pinned together, so the material use of the pins is responsible for stability, function, structure, and form. The content of these pieces encompasses nostalgia, comics, advertising, and whatever is at hand in my large collection of images to build the story and amuse imagination.
