These images are culled from a meditation practice I keep whereby I hold a lens backward to the camera body, and look very closely at botanic subjects. The technique transforms how the camera sees, and forces me to see in a less predictable way. I become absorbed in the process of image-making, and in that I become absorbed in seeing.
The images I am drawn to print are beautiful, but more than that, they balance softness and tension in a way that straightforward photographic interpretation could not.
